Utah Kawasaki

Analog synthesizer, laptop
Born in Tokyo in 1976. Inspired by his visits to the Paris Peking record shop, Utah Kawasaki began producing music in 1994, and between '94 and '95 released so many titles on tape that he himself lost count. In '96 he released a solo CD on Zero Gravity, a sub-label of Transonic Records. Since then he has contributed to a number of compilation CDs. Astro Twin, a duo with voice performer Ami Yoshida, is one of his main projects. The duo's first album Astro Twin / Cosmos (a 2-CD set shared with Cosmos, the duo of Sachiko M and Ami Yoshida), was released on F.M.N. Sound Factory in 2002. Kawasaki toured Europe in October 2000 with the group Mongoose, which he formed wtih Taku Sugimoto and Tetuzi Akiyama. He also put out a solo CD utah.mod.radi. in 2002 on Radio, a sub-label of 360°.

AEN (Yasufumi Suzuki)

As director of the Commune Disc label and curator of the monthly Soundroom event at Super Deluxe, Yasufumi Suzuki keeps close quarters with many performers we know and respect. As an artist in his own right he produces resplendent solo work, very often the result of his two old tape recorders overdubbed into layered and sublime pieces of music. As a live performing artist, he is a fearless improvisor, taking the stage in a number of contexts with musical innovators from Japan and overseas.

Takahiro Kawaguchi

Born in Osaka, 1980.In 2000, Kawaguchi started thinking about field recordings. He creates recorded works using sound-making objects, presents installations, and is active in the field of improvised music. He plays solo performance, installations, and the member of following groups, Hello (Shinjiro Yamaguchi, Satoshi Kanda, and Takahiro Kawaguchi) / Off Cells (Seiijiro Murayama, Taku Unami, Utah Kawasaki and Takahiro Kawaguchi) / Akibin Orchestra (Masafumi Ezaki's orchestra for empty bottles).
