"Traversing Territories / Ryoiki no yukiki" is an ongoing exchange project between Musashino Art University and Nottingham NTSAD. The first part happened in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nottingham and London in 2005-2006, the second part will happen in 2007 Summer in Tokyo and in Spring 2008 in Nottingham and London. For the 07 Summer events, 4 students and one lecturer (Mr Rob Flint) will come to Japan, work with MAU students, and present their music and art at Gallery Higure, Musashino Art University and Roppongi Superdeluxe. Experiments in crossing territories, media, space and time. Please come and enjoy!

Test Tone vol. 25 This month, Test Tone celebrates its 25th installment, and there is a first class roster of artists on hand to make it a very unique, yet minimal affair. From Greece, sound and visual developer Dimitris Kariofilis aka Ilios will be performing his works solo, and in collaboration with electronic music pioneer Keiichiro Shibuya (who also heads the excellent ATAK label). In addition, field recording maestro Ryuta Kawabata will perform with Tone Blues, a very special unit including Akihiro Kubota (live coding + feedback acoustic piano), Takmi Iqeda (computer) and Toshihiko Kajii (guitar). Finally, joining us for the evening will be the director of web-label Intervall-audio, Stan Eberlein, who will perform improvised electronic pieces as Scriptones. On the night, distinctive visuals will be provided by Brecht Debackere from Visualantics in Belgium, who will be teaming up with Scriptones, and Manabe Daito with his exceptional group Tripon, who will perform with Ryuta Kawabata and his unit. All in all, a heavyweight evening we are proud to call our own. Hope to see you there.
